Entrepreneurship Education is a new subject introduced at CSM since 2014. Entrepreneurship Education relates to the attributes and quality that makes a successful entrepreneur. EE also englobes the study of factors that affects our choice, some aspects of marketing, economics v/s profits and losses are also taught in this subject.
Accounting relates to the study and analysis of all the financial and cost management aspects of a business.In today’s world everyone should at least have a small knowledge of accounting to properly manage his own revenues and expenses. Accounting is also of vital importance for a business to survive and achieve of one its main objectives, that is, generate the maximum profit. Accounting englobes both financial and cost management accounting.
Business studies is based on how businesses combine resources effectively to produce goods and services that satisfy consumers and thereby making profit. One practical reason for studying business is the many career opportunities business provides. Knowledge of business helps you be a more knowledgeable consumer and enable you market yourself effectively while looking for a job. Business studies is mainly about all the aspects of a business, human resource, marketing, financial, economical issues and operations management.
Economics is the social science that deals with the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services. Economics explains how people interact within markets to get what they want or accomplish certain goals. Since economics is a driving force of human interaction, studying it often reveals why people and governments behave in particular ways. Studying economics comprises of the study of basic economic problems, allocation of resources and how markets work, the micro and macro economy, economic indicators, role of government in the economy and international trade among other aspects.
The study of accounting, business studies and/ or Economics can contribute to your future career as an Accountant, Financial Controller, Bank Manager / Officer, Auditor, Business Analyst, Statistician, Economist, Management Consultant, Actuary and much more.

Since 2016 EE is being examined at National Level at Form 3, i.e., all Mauritians students sit for a common paper.

Business formely named as Business studies has been renamed as Business.
Accounting
As from 2016, Accounting at A level will be examined through 3 papers. From 2002 to 2015, students taking Accounting at A level were examined in 4 Papers.
